Kevin Hawk Wins the Forrest Wood Cup

Kevin Hawk of California just walked away win $600,000 and the win at Lake Lanier.  This was a huge win for him, but the story behind it is even better.  Last Fall, after learning he qualified for the event, he moved out to Georgia and lived in a small pool house and fished the lake constantly to learn it.  It looks like all of his hard work paid off.  Congrats Kevin!

Nice concise informative blurb here Tyler. Sounds like there wasn't any luck at all involved with Kevin's win eh. Dedicated, bright and a really good Basser from what I've seen or heard so far.

How wrapped up in Bass'n is a guy that don't mind live'n in a boathouse so's he can study & learn that tough clear water lake eh? Sure paid off in aces 2 do what he did. Yup, no luck there 2 B sure.

Bent poles buddy Ty.

I was rooting for him. It's good to see the unknowns do well once in a while, it makes for a good story. Like you say, hard work does pay off.
