Choosing a Worm Weight: The Tungsten Difference

I think the only reason everyone isn't using tungsten weights is the cost.  I have been using them exclusively for years and I am definitely a believer. There are so many benefits to using them; the reduced size, the increased sensitivity, they are more durable and they are even more eco-friendly.  They come in all sizes and colors to meet your needs.  The only drawback to using them was the cost, that was until Eco Pro Tungsten entered the market.  Until recently, there was only one major supplier of tungsten weights, Tru-Tungsten.  These are great weights and it is all I used until I saw Eco Pro Tungsten.  They are basically the same thing, both are 97% Tungsten and come painted.  Tru-Tungsten has the advantage of having more colors and sizes to choose from. I have also tried the Bass Pro Shops version and have had good success with them.

In the picture above, all three brands are represented.  I think it's pretty hard to pick out which ones are each brand.  The only difference between the Tru-Tungsten and Eco Pro compared to the BPS version is  that the Bass Pro Version is 95% tungsten and have a line insert.  There are some mixed reviews on the inserts and how it can be difficult to get the line through.

I was curious about the actual cost of these weights so I researched the cost of the painted versions and included them below.  As you can see, the Eco Pro were by far the least expensive out of the three.  If you haven't jumped on the tungsten band wagon, now is you chance.  Check out Eco Pro Tungsten here

Thanx for this cost analysis, Tyler. I've just started using tungsten weights, and bullet weights in general, so this is great info.
