PAA Lake Norman Day 1 Results

The Bass Pro Shops PAA Lake Norman started today. Just like the last event, it kind of snuck up on me and I forgot it was going on until just now.  I already said my thoughts on how the PAA should do more to advertise the events.  It looked like some big weights were brought in.  They had been predicting tough weights due to the summer conditions.  Elite Series Pro Edwin Evers is leading the event with almost 15 pounds, he had almost 16 pounds before dead fish penalties.  In 2nd is Shinichi Fukae with 14.96lbs after his own penalties.  In 3rd is Guy Eaker with 13.79lbs after his own penalties.  Looks like the water was hot as there are plenty of "fish care penalties".  The Top 10 is full of Elite Series and FLW Pros and some unknown guys.  I really like the PAA because it combines both tours.  The rumor has been about a potential FLW vs. BASS championship somewhere but that never came out at the Forrest Wood Cup.  For now we just have the PAA, if you can remember when the events are.

PAA is cool, but Lake Norman? C'mon, lets fish a real lake or river system. I guess Charlotte bid the highest again.

That's how it usually works. Highest bidders get to have them come to town, but what's wrong with Lake Norman?

It's a water-skiing lake, not a big-time pro bass fishery. A kicker over there is 3 lbs. lol

I don't have anything against Norman per say, but as a fan, I would like to see better variety at the highest levels. Seems like they are fishing the same places over and over.

FLW Tour was already on Norman just a few months ago.

Oh Well, great blog Tyler!
