One more day...

Tomorrow is the big day.  Boyd Duckett is going to announce the news of his plan for a new tournament league.  Speculation has been that it will be a no-entry fee, invitation only event.  I'm curious to see all of the details and also to see who gets "invited" and who doesn't.

I think it should make for some interesting conversation.  What are your thoughts?  Do we really need another league?  We already have B.A.S.S., FLW and the PAA all vying for the fan's attention.

Without knowing the details it's hard to say but for the fun of speculation I will go with; no we don't need another tournament trail.

If Boyd has indeed figured out a way to have a trail of entry fee-less tournaments that would be huge. But I would have assumed BASS or FLW would have already gone that route.

I suppose if Boyd Bassin' Bonanza allows the anglers more opportunities to fish and earn a check, perhaps it is a good thing.

I don't know, it just feels like your spreading out the heard, kind of like adding more teams to an already saturated league.

Based upon what I literally just read on wired2fish, the MLF (not Boyd's Bassin Bonanza) sounds really intriguing. I just wonder how sustainable it really is.

The fishing industry anglers are the source of all of the new "trails". There are many that are not happy with the way the big 3 are handling business. The industry is evolving, and if BASS, FLW, and PAA aren't listening to what the anglers want, someone will come along with a trail to fill the ever changing needs of the tournament angler. It is time for some big changes. The distance between the owners of the big 3 and the anglers is too large. They are out of touch and can't know what needs to be done at the lowest level to keep participants and members motivated. Lack of action could be devastating even to the largest of organizations. The anglers are what make it happen. They are the "customers". They better listen to their customers and find ways to make them feel special if they want to save their oganizations.
