BASS Federation Nation Championship - Day 1

Today was the first day of the Bassmaster Federation Nation Championship. It is being held here in Florida on the Harris Chain. This is the chance for the weekend angler to make it to the classic and fish against the pros we all watch on tv and read about in Bassmaster Magazine. I thought I would post something about these guys chasing a dream since next weekend I am fishing the Florida State Championship with the hopes of making it to the next level next year.

"The Federation Nation Championship is represented by anglers from six divisions, the Northern, Southern, Mid Atlantic, Western, Central and Eastern. The top angler from each division gets a Bassmaster Classic berth while the overall tournament winner is the Federation Nation Champion.

The Mid Atlantic divisional leader is Gerry Jooste of Harare, Zimbabwe, who sits in 15th for the tournament. The Southern leader is Brent Long of Catawba, N.C., who is in fourth, the Northern leader is Randy Wieczorek of Buffalo City, Wis., the Western leader is tournament leader Matt Massey of Lakewood, Colo., the Central leader is Tom Jessop of Delhart, Texas and the Eastern leader is Skip Sjobeck of Randolph, Vt."

Good luck guys! Maybe one of these fisherman will be the next Bryan Kerchal (the only Federation Angler to win the Classic)
