Punchin' is a relatively new technique, but it's arguably the hottest way to catch bass in heavy cover. The industry has exploded with technique specific tackle and equipment like the iRod Punch Rod, the Paycheck Punch Skirt and the Miller Punchin' Weight. The creative minds of tackle companies have been working overtime. I just read an article on tacticalbassin.com that showcases the Miller Punchin' Weight.
