I did something a little different last night and fished a night tournament on the Kennedy Chain of Lakes in nearby Cape Coral. I haven't fished a night tournament in years and it was a blast. We ended up in 2nd Place out of 30 boats and got a check.
The Kennedy Chain is notorious for lots of fish but small average size. It is nothing to go out and catch fifty fish in a day. This place is great for teaching someone to bass fish or for trying out new lures.
Last night we started out at 5pm and weighed-in at midnight. It was unusal day for the Kennedy Chain and we really struggled catching keepers until the sundown. About an hour after sunset it was on. We caught them pretty frequently on black and blue and junebug senkos. Our total weight was close to nine pounds helped quite a bit by this 4.26 pound fish. I had fun and I'm really looking forward to the next one.
