Interesting News From the Forrest Wood Cup

The Forrest Wood Cup Started today on Georgia's Lake Lanier and Kevin Hawk from California is leading.  I predicted a Western Pro would win this year's event last year when I made my pics. "The Cup has been won by alot of young Western Pros (Clausen '04, Ehrler '06 and Bennett '08) in just the last few years. The trend has been every other year."  I am hoping Brent Ehrler can pull it off again, he is currently in 9th place.

Another interesting piece was on Bassfan.com about  Irwin Jacobs telling the Atlanta Journal Constitution that he'd make two major announcements this week 'that will change the sport forever.'" Speculation is that they are working on a combined championship event with FLW Tour and Elite Series Pros.  That would a great event to determine a true "best in the world".
